SAFF Championship: India beat Lebanon 4-2 in the tie-breaker to make it to the final

SAFF ChampionshipIn the SAFF Championship, the Indian team defeated Lebanon in a tie-breaker. In the semi-finals, the Indian team defeated 4-2. No goal was scored from either side even after repeated extra time. In the end, the Indian team won the shootout.

In the first half, the Indian team tried their best to attack but the Lebanese counter was equally strong. Efforts were also made from the Lebanese side but without success. The pressure of semi-finals is also of a different level. The first half went without a goal.

In the second half, India took an aggressive approach but could not get the ball into the goal post. Efforts continued from both the sides but after completion of 90 minutes the score of both the teams remained 0-0. After this the match went to extra time. Extra time was given twice.

Even after 105 minutes, there was no goal and the result of the match was not known. Once again extra time was given in the match but there too the game of both the teams was equal and in the end the match went into tie breaker. The Indian team won the match 4-2 in the tie-breaker.

Mahesh, Udanta, Anwar and Sunil Chhetri scored goals for the Indian team in the tie-breaker. Team India now has to play against Kuwait in the final match. A match was also played between India and Kuwait in the league stage. That match between the two ended in a 1-1 draw.
