Abhishek Bachchan to be honored with ‘Leadership in Cinema’ award at IFFM 2022
Actor Abhishek Bachchan will attend the 13th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022, where he is to be honored with the Leadership in Cinema Awards. Abhishek will also talk exclusively about his journey in Bollywood and the diversity of cinema. Abhishek was last seen in a social comedy titled Dusvi on Netflix, for which he received a lot of appreciation.
The actor started his career with JP Dutta’s romantic drama, Refugee (2000). This year Abhishek has completed 22 years in Indian cinema. He has garnered a lot of praise for his strong performances in films like Yuva, Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Ludo.
Abhishek says, “I am excited to be a part of celebrating cinema in Melbourne. I have been invited by IFFM and excited to be a part of a festival that is truly inspired by Indian cinema and its magical impact. It is indeed an honor for them to honor me with the Leadership in Cinema Award and I am grateful to the jury and the team at IFFM. To be in another country to celebrate Indian pride and Indian content with my peers. Which is what I’m really looking forward to.”
The IFFM will take place from 12-20 August 2022. After the pandemic, it is returning with its physical event for the first time since 2020 and 2021 were made virtual. It is one of the largest Indian film festivals that take place outside India and is also the only Indian film festival supported by the Victorian government in Australia. The event will be attended by some big names of Bollywood like Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Shefali Shah, Vaani Kapoor.
