Bangalore Traffic Police has started installing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras on the streets of Bangalore, these ANPR cameras will help in identifying the criminals on the roads as well as in dense areas.

Also, let us tell you that the first ANPR camera was installed last week. Bangalore Traffic Police seems to be working for the purpose for which these ANPR cameras have been installed, ANPR cameras have already separately examined 25 vehicles with pending cases and collected Rs 19,900 as fine. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR camera) cameras are not only helping the Bangalore Traffic Police but also instilling fear in the minds of criminals that ‘the next number is not theirs’.

Also it can identify illegal parking, keep an eye on vehicles running red lights and make traffic management efficient.

So far, the Bangalore Traffic Police has procured 2028 body worn cameras, 250 ANPR cameras and 80 red-light violation detection (RLVD) cameras and the traffic police says it is in the process of procuring more cameras.
