Congress and BJP have already geared up for the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year. Where Congress has formed a new alliance ‘India‘ consisting of about 26 parties. So there BJP has reactivated the NDA. BJP has united about 38 parties under NDA.
Where Congress laid the foundation of INDIA by meeting in Bengaluru. At the same time, BJP reactivated the NDA in Delhi. Although dozens of parties have joined these new alliances, but there are many big parties which have kept distance from these alliances.

There are many parties like BSP, BJD, YSR, JDS, AIMIM and BRS. Who have not shown any interest in joining any alliance. There are about 10 such parties which have not become part of any alliance.
BSP-
BSP with 10 MPs is the party with its largest mass base in UP. Apart from UP, BSP has also had a big influence on the voters of some areas in the neighboring states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Mayawati’s hold over Dalit and Muslim voters is considered strong. Its chief Mayawati has not opened her cards in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Biju Janata Dal
CM Naveen Patnaik’s BJD, which has been ruling Odisha for many decades, did not join any camp. The party has a huge support base in Odisha. It has 12 MPs in the current Lok Sabha. Though the BJD has always been inclined towards the BJP, it has shown no interest in joining the NDA.
BRS
Telangana’s ruling party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and state chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been trying to forge a non-Congress-non-BJP alliance for a long time. Recently he had also tried to assemble several parties, but he failed. Elections are due later this year in Telangana, where the Congress is giving a tough fight to the BRS. In such a situation, where the Congress has kept distance from the BRS, the BJP has also not tried to bring the BRS into its fold.
Janata Dal (Secular)
Karnataka’s third largest party JDS has also kept itself away from these alliances. JDS had won 3 Lok Sabha seats in 2009 elections. The party has a large support base in Old Mysore and Hyderabad, Karnataka. It is believed that due to opposition from local leaders, Congress and BJP have not invited JDS to join.
YSR Congress Party
Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy is considered close to the BJP. It has 22 MPs in the Lok Sabha and in 2019 it got 2.53 per cent votes. Apart from Andhra Pradesh, the influence of this party is also believed in Telangana. Jagan Mohan has also not attended the NDA meeting.
TDP
Andhra’s main opposition party TDP has also not become a part of any alliance. TDP broke ties with NDA in 2019. After which she contested the election alone. Although TDP Chief Chandrasekhar Naidu had a meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda a few days ago. After which it was believed that he could return to the NDA. But this has not happened.
Shiromani Akali Dal
Shiromani Akali Dal, the old ally of BJP and ruling Punjab for a long time, has not joined the NDA alliance. In 2020, the Akali Dal broke ties with the NDA on the issue of farmers. It has two MPs in the current Lok Sabha. In 2019, it got a total of 0.62 per cent votes.
INLD
Haryana’s Indian Lok Dal is also not involved in any alliance. At present, it does not have a single MP in the Lok Sabha. INLD has neither received any invitation from the opposition front nor from the NDA. This party has a strong hold on the Jat voters of Haryana. INLD had won 2 seats in the 2014 elections.
AIMIM
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has also not joined any alliance. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party, which has a mass base in Telangana, Maharashtra, Bihar and Karnataka, has two Lok Sabha MPs. In 2019, it got 0.20 per cent votes. But the party has not received any invitation from any party to join the alliance.
A.I.U.D.F.
Badruddin Ajmal’s party All India United Democratic Front was expected to join the alliance of opposition parties in Assam, but the party itself has distanced itself from these alliances. In the Assam elections held last year, the Congress contested in alliance with the AIUDF. AIUDF has 16 MLAs in the Assam Legislative Assembly. The party dominates 3 seats.
