Jagannath Rath Yatra

Out of all the worships of the month of Ashadh, the most grand and special worship is the Jagannath Rath Yatra. For which people wait with great enthusiasm. Let us tell you that Jagannath Temple, one of the four pilgrimages of Hindus, is dedicated to Shri Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is located in the coastal city of Puri in the Indian state of Odisha and is dedicated to the Vaishnava sect. The meaning of the word Jagannath is ‘lord of the world’.

Rath Yatra begins on the second date of Shuklapaksha

Let us tell you that every year the Rath Yatra starts on the second date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month and ends on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha. This time this yatra is starting from 20th June. People come from every corner of the world to participate in this world famous Rath Yatra. It is believed that pulling the chariot destroys all the sufferings and sins of a human being and attains salvation.
