New Delhi, May 30IPL 2022 has gone well for RR spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He also contributed with the bat with the ball and garnered much appreciation. But one thing also appeared that Ashwin was seen struggling in throwing his off-spin balls. He used to throw carrom balls mostly. This is something a lot of people have not liked. Even Rajasthan Royals director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara wants Ravichandran Ashwin to step up his own game for the next season of the Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan Royals included 35-year-old Ashwin in their squad during the mega auction after he was released by Delhi Capitals. This season the off-spinner took 12 wickets in 17 matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore with best figures of 3/17. Obviously this figure is a bit low.

“Ash (Ashwin) has done a great job for us,” Sangakkara said in a post-match press conference.

The Sri Lankan said, “What Ashwin has achieved on cricket pitches is nothing short of a legend, yet there is room for improvement for him here, a lot of improvement and thinking is needed, especially in bowling off-spin and doing more.” All of this is needed.”

In the final of IPL 2022 against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, Ashwin could not do much with the bat after being sent down at No. He went without a wicket in his three overs and conceded 32 runs.

Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to win their first season as well as the IPL in front of their home crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Earlier in the 2022 tournament, R Ashwin became the second off-spinner after Harbhajan Singh to take 150 wickets. He achieved the milestone against Bangalore in April. Ashwin also had some good batting finishes to his name but this season he still left a lot of room to improve. Especially the fans are eager to see his off-spin bowling.
