New Delhi, June 1: A tweet by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly left many confused that perhaps the former captain has resigned from his post. There have also been some reports that Ganguly has resigned from his post on Wednesday. Ganguly’s tweet which has been considered as the basis for his resignation, he has written as follows-

It has been 30 years of my cricketing journey from 1992 till now 2022. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me your support. I am thankful to whoever has been a part of this journey, who has helped me.

Today I am planning to do something which I think will help many people. I hope you guys will continue to support me like this in my new chapter.

But BCCI secretary Jay Shah has denied this and told that Ganguly has not resigned from his post.

Last month, Sourav Ganguly hosted Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his home in Bengal. BJP leaders Swapan Dasgupta and Amit Malviya were also present at the dinner, which ultimately fueled the next innings’ speculations about “Dada”.

However, Sourav Ganguly spoke about his close ties with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and praised other Trinamool leaders as well. “Our honorable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is a very close person to me. I had approached her to help this institution,” he told reporters.
