Although the full moon date of every month has special significance in Hinduism, but the full moon of Vaishakh month has been described as very special in the Vedas, because the full moon of Vaishakh month is called Buddha Purnima. It is believed that Gautam Buddha, who is said to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born on the day of Buddha Purnima.
May 16 is Buddha Purnima
This year Buddha Purnima is on 16 May. Buddha Jayanti is also celebrated on the same day as Buddha Purnima. Lord Gautam Buddha is worshiped on the day of Buddha Purnima. It is said that on this day all the wishes are fulfilled by worshiping the Lord with full rituals. Bathing and charity have special significance on the day of Buddha Purnima.
Auspicious time of Buddha Purnima
The full moon date of Vaishakh month is on 16 May. The beginning of this date will be from 12.45 pm on 15th May till 9.45 pm on the next day on 16th May.

On the day of Buddha Purnima, one should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. After this, after wearing clean clothes, Lord Vishnu should be worshipped. After this, light a lamp of ghee. After this offer prasad to the god and then perform aarti. It would be better if Tulsi is used in Prasad. Eat only sattvik food on this day.
