The prestigious annual international film festival attracts filmmakers, actors, producers, and movie fans from all over the globe. The gala event is scheduled to take place from May 16 to May 27 in the beautiful coastal city of the French Riviera.

While the red carpet of the highly anticipated festival will roll out next week, the glitzy event will be graced by some of the biggest names from the entertainment world.

The Cannes 2023 jury consists of French actor Denis Menochet; American actress Brie Larson; Brazilian filmmaker Rungano Nyoni; Moroccan film director Maryam Touzani; American actor-director Paul Dano; Afghan writer-director Atiq Rahimi; Argentinian film director Damian Szifron; and French director Julia Ducouranu.

How can one attend the film festival?
Holders of the accreditation of the festival or parallel parts can access a ticket at the online ticket office of the festival’s official website. For those who want to get free admission, according to the festival’s website, “Each night starting at 9:30 pm, Cinéma de la Plage offers outdoor screenings for all to enjoy.” Meanwhile, according to the vipconcierge website, a ticket ranges from $6,100 to $25,000.

The website of Cannes states the norm is wearing a dinner jacket or an evening dress. One can opt for a cocktail dress, a dark trouser suit, a dressy top with black trousers, a little black dress, a black or midnight blue suit with a bow tie, and elegant shoes, in the absence of a dinner jacket or an evening dress.

The instruction reads, “In the absence of this, you may wear a cocktail dress, a dark trouser suit, a dressy top with black trousers, a little black dress, a black or midnight blue suit with a bow tie. Elegant shoes, with or without heels, are required (no trainers).

Indian films to be screened at Cannes in 2023

Kenned, written and directed by Anurag Kashyap, will be screened in the midnight screening section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Apart from this, Agra, Firebrand, and Ishanou will also be screened at this year’s Cannes. Several international films are also selected for the film festival this year.

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is set to make her Cannes debut this year. Over the years, the red carpet has been graced by several Indian celebrities including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, and Hina Khan among others.
