New Delhi, March 15: Corona cases have started increasing once again in many countries of the world. After China, now there has been an increase in the case of corona in America. According to an analysis of Center for Disease Control and Prevention data (CDC), cases are increasing once again in many parts of the US. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that cases of Deltachron have started increasing worldwide. There is a concern that Deltakrone may bring a new wave of corona.

More than a third of CDC’s wastewater sampling sites across the US have shown rising COVID-19 trends in the period from March 1 to March 10. The number of sites with increasing signs of COVID-19 cases has almost doubled compared to the period from February 1 to February 10. That too when the wave of cases of the Omicron variant is rapidly dying out. However it is not clear how many of the signs in sewage represent new infections and whether they will turn into a new wave.

Amy Kirby, the head of the CDC’s wastewater monitoring program, told Bloomberg, “Wastewater levels are generally very low across the board, we are seeing reports of an increase in sites. However, their increase is very less. At the same time, new cases of infection are increasing due to Omicron’s sub-variant BA.2 in the UK and Germany. BA.2 is responsible for more than 50% of cases and cases associated with this variant are increasing in the UK and China, as well as in other parts of Europe.

On the other hand, according to Andy Slavitt, former senior adviser to the Kovid response effort in the Biden administration in the US, while cases are still low in the US, two things are worth noting. Only 10% of cases are of BA.2 and since BA.2 spreads about 30% faster than Omicron, it is expected that the situation will be similar to Europe. Cases of the DeltaCron variant have also been found in some parts of the US. Although, its cases are very less right now, but it can bring a new wave.
