Birmingham, Aug 05. The eighth gold medal has come in India‘s account in the Commonwealth Games 2022. The eighth day of the Games seems to be going completely in the name of wrestling. In fact, in wrestling, first Bajrang Punia gave India gold, then after that Sakshi Malik has also won the gold medal for the first time in the Commonwealth Games, registering a historic victory.

Sakshi has won gold for the first time in Commonwealth

Let us tell you that Sakshi Malik has won gold in the freestyle 62kg category by defeating Anna Godinez Gonzalez of Canada. Sakshi Malik has won gold medal in Commonwealth Games for the first time. Sakshi scored four points by first hitting the opposition player and then winning pinball points. Sakshi Malik has previously won silver (2014) and bronze medal (2018) in Commonwealth Games.

Deepak Poonia won the third gold in wrestling

Let us tell you that today’s day has been completely in the name of wrestling. First Bajrang Punia won the gold medal. After Bajrang, Sakshi and then Deepak Poonia defeated Mohammad Inam of Pakistan 3-0 to give the country its 9th gold medal. Deepak Poonia won India’s third gold in wrestling by defeating Pakistan’s Muhammad Inam in the 86kg category. Apart from gold, silver and bronze medals have also come to India’s account. Anshu Malik has won silver medal, while female player Divyan Kakran has won bronze medal.
