New Delhi, August 9:
Tokyo Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra congratulated his Pakistan rival Arshad Nadeem after a record-breaking win at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Nadeem broke the 90m barrier in the men’s javelin throw final and easily won the gold medal. The Pakistani athlete posted his video on Instagram where Neeraj also gave a small message.

Neeraj congratulated him for his achievement and wished him all the best for his future tournaments.

He wrote on his post, “Congratulations Arshad bhai for crossing 90m with gold medal and new game record. Best wishes for further competitions.”

Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem share a good friendship. It is based on mutual respect. Nadeem has always respected Nariz and said a lot about Indian.

Nadeem had recently said in an interview to a Pakistan outlet, “He is a good person. Initially, you are a little reserved. When you get to know each other, you open up.”

“We have a great friendship. I hope he continues to perform for India and I keep performing for my country. We both have made an impact. We are like a family.”

The Pakistani athlete had further said, “The way Neeraj bhai has got a lot of fame in your country, I have got a lot of support from my government and people. I am really grateful for that.”

Neeraj Chopra, one of the top contenders to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, was ruled out of the competition after suffering a groin injury at the World Championships, where he won a silver medal.
