Commonwealth Games 2026, Australia state Victoria pulls out:
The Commonwealth Games were to be held in the Australian state of Victoria during the year 2026. But now it doesn’t seem to be happening. The head of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, told that at first its budget seemed low, but when work started on it it seemed double, due to which we have decided to withdraw from hosting.

15 not 34 thousand crore rupees:
According to media reports, the budget of the Games was said to be two billion Australian dollars, about 15 thousand crore rupees. But if all the expenses incurred on the event are added, then seven billion Australian dollars will be needed, which is about 34 thousand crore rupees. This is the reason why Australia has withdrawn its name from hosting it.

Future of Commonwealth Games hangs in the balance:
With Australia backing out like this, the future of the Commonwealth Games also hangs in the balance. In the past too little interest had been shown for organizing the Commonwealth Games. Most of the countries have not shown their interest in hosting it. Let us tell you that the Commonwealth Games were last organized in Birmingham in 2022.

Australia refused to hostEarlier, Australia had successfully organized the Commonwealth Games four times. Australia hosted the Commonwealth Games in 1938, 1962, 1982 and 2018. This was the fifth time that Australia was to host the game. But the state of Victoria has flatly refused to do so. More than 5 thousand athletes will participate in the Commonwealth Games of the year 2026, so it will be interesting to see where the Commonwealth Games are organized in the year 2026.
