Rules will change from June 1

The second phase of mandatory hallmarking of gold jewelery and artefacts will start from June 1. Let us tell you that the BIS hallmarking mark is the identification of the purity of any gold. Let us tell you that gold hallmarking was voluntary till 16 June 2021, but the government has made it mandatory since then.

Considering the demand and convenience of the people, the government decided to implement mandatory hallmarking of gold across the country, although it is being implemented in a phased manner. Earlier on 23 June 2021, it was implemented in 256 districts of the country. Three additional carats of gold jewelery i.e. 20 carat, 23 carat and 24 carat have been included in the second phase of mandatory hallmarking.

Before buying gold, if you are worried about the purity of gold, then now your problem will be easy. You can check the purity of gold by looking at the BIS hallmarking mark. This BIS hallmark is a guarantee of the purity of gold. Let us tell you that the triangular mark of the Bureau of Indian Standards and the logo of the Hallmarking Center are made on the jewellery. You can check the purity of gold by checking it properly.
