Hackers carried out the biggest crypto theft, took away tokens worth Rs 4660 crore

New Delhi, 30 March. Blockchain company Ronin said on March 29 that hackers stole about $615 million worth of cryptocurrency from its system, in what would be one of the largest cryptocurrency thefts on record.

The company reported that unidentified hackers stole approximately 173,600 Ether tokens and USD 25.5 million worth of tokens on March 23. The stolen money is worth $614 million at current exchange rates.

Ronin is used to power the popular Axi Infinity game, which uses NFTs. It said in a blog post that the hacker had used stolen private keys. Explain that in order to access crypto funds, the user has a necessary password, which is called a private key.

“We are working directly with various government agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice,” the company said.

Cryptocurrency price on Wednesday
Most of the cryptocurrencies were trading in the red on Wednesday. The global cryptocurrency market fell 0.95 percent to $2.12 trillion in the past 24 hours. At the same time, the total crypto market volume reached $ 116 billion in the same period, which is down 2.26 percent. The total volume of stablecoins is $94.80 billion which is 81 percent of the total crypto volume in the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin, the world’s largest and most popular cryptocurrency, is dominated by 42.17 percent, showing a slight decline of 0.02 percent. According to data from Coinmarketcap, bitcoin was trading at a price of Rs 36.44 lakh on Wednesday morning.
