Hollywood Actors’ Strike: Picture Of A Man Holding Ram Charan- Jr NTR’s Epic RRR Movie Poster Goes Viral

The entertainment industry received a shock on July 14 when the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) called for a strike. This is the first time ever in 63 years for the Hollywood union to go on a strike.

The Writer’s Association first went on a strike and then SAG-AFTRA joined them citing the reason for the union strike as unfavorable conditions as well as low wages, which are one of the major challenges among others.

The strike is also an outcome of the futile efforts put in by the union to enter into an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

During the march that was carried out by the union as part of the strike, a person was seen holding a placard with Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s still from the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song in RRR, which read, ‘StRRRike.’ The picture went viral within no time. The poster thus gained global recognition as the movie did.

The unprecedented strike of Hollywood left a remarkable impact on the industry. The production of several films, shows, etc has come to a halt. About 160,000 members of the SAG-AFTRA including actors, technicians, media professionals, broadcast journalists, hosts, and workers are taking part in the strike, extending their support to the cause. They demanded fair pay and thriving working conditions from the studios they worked in. The union is still negotiating with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) which includes studios, and OTT services, to secure and revise the guidelines every three years.

Stars like Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Florence Pugh seconded the union’s strike by walking out off the red carpet during the premiere of Oppenheimer.
