The actress, who suffered from multiple sclerosis in 2018, has penned a new memoir titled ‘Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up’, which is slated to release on May 17. In which she openly told how she got addicted to alcohol when she was only seven years old. The 49-year-old actress told People magazine. The Hellboy and Legally Blonde actress opens up about her early addiction to alcohol, “I don’t know if I could have survived my childhood without alcohol.”

According to Blair, she used to take ‘quick oysters’ in her early years of drinking to deal with her anxiety. Blair wrote in her memoir that she was raped after drinking alcohol one day during a spring break trip to college. The actress wrote that I do not know whether they both raped me or not. One of them certainly did. I calmed myself down and waited for it to end.

“I used to get so drunk that more…”

The actress said that I wish I could say that what happened to me that night was an anomaly, but it was not. The 49-year-old actress said, “I used to get so drunk that I couldn’t even say the word ‘please, stop’. That was the only time violent. I came out of every incident quietly and ashamed.” Blair shared that he had only told his doctor about the traumatic incident. However, he was forced to openly share his story as part of his recovery journey.

‘I was embarrassed and very disappointed with myself’

Blair said, “I didn’t know the attack was the trauma in my life. I was embarrassed and so disappointed with myself. I’m grateful I felt safe enough to have it on the page of the book. Since 2016 The Calm actress dedicated her book Mean Baby to others who are going through a similar experience. Blair is now a proud mother to son Arthur, 10. She is also feeling optimistic about her future.
