‘I will miss you’, Sania Mirza bids goodbye to Wimbledon after losing in semi-finals

New Delhi, 7 July:
Indian tennis star Sania Mirza on Wednesday emotionally left the Wimbledon Championships after losing in the semi-finals. She had earlier dropped out of the women’s doubles competition. Sania is a former champion in the women’s doubles event, having won the title in 2015 and this year’s semi-final is her best performance in mixed doubles.

Sania had earlier announced that this would be her last year on the WTA circuit as the Indian star plans to retire after that. After her loss, Sania bid goodbye to Wimbledon in an emotional post on Instagram.

Former world No. 1 player in women’s doubles, Mirza won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open in the women’s doubles event. He also won the Australian Open, French Open and US Open once each in mixed doubles.

She was also a semifinalist at the 2016 Olympic Games, losing in mixed doubles.

Sania wrote on Instagram, “Sports takes a lot out of you.

Mentally, physically, emotionally…

Loss and victory… After hours of hard work and defeat, sleeplessness for many nights. But it gives you a lot in return which no other work can provide and for that I will always be grateful. There are tears of happiness, fight and struggle go along, whatever work we do, it works in the end. This time Wimbledon was great where it was an honor to play, and to win here for the last 20 years…I will miss you

India’s star female tennis player Sania Mirza announced her retirement a few days ago after losing in the Australian Open. Sania announced this after her first round defeat in the women’s doubles at the Australian Open 2022. Sania Mirza announced that 2022 will be her last season on the tour.
