Pollard lives in Tecarigua, Trinidad

Kieron Pollard is one of the greatest batsmen in T20 cricket. He has countless records to his name. But he has achieved this position after a lot of struggle. His childhood was spent in extreme poverty. His mother took care of the family by working as a laborer. But today he has no dearth of wealth and fame. Trinidad and Tobagou is a country in the Caribbean archipelago. Tecarigua is a city about 20 kilometers from the capital, Port of Spain. This is where Pollard was born. Now Pollard Tecarigua lives in a luxurious bungalow. The interior and exterior decor of the bungalow is spectacular. There is a swimming bridge. There is a garden. There are many expensive cars like BMW and Audi. After retiring from cricket, Pollard lives here with wife Jane and three children.

went to Trinidad for the match and met Pollard

The first T20 match was between India and West Indies on 29 July. The match was played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba City, Trinidad. The city of Taurouba in Trinidad is located about 45 kilometers south of the capital, Port of Spain. Hardik Pandya is included in the T20 team of India. They also came to Tarouba to play the match. India won this match by 68 runs. Since Hardik had come to Pollard’s country Trinidad, he could not give up the temptation to meet his best friend. Before this, whenever he came to Trinidad to play a match, he definitely went to meet Pollard at his house. This trend continued this time also. Pollard has a great bonding not only with Hardik but also with Krunal Pandya. Hardik has also gotten along well with Pollard’s wife, Jane, and their children.

In 2017 when Hardik was scared of Pollard’s joke

In 2017, India’s team went to the West Indies tour. Hardik Pandya was also part of the team in the limited overs match. The first ODI between the two teams was at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad. West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. India’s score was 199 for three in 39.2 overs when the rain came. The match was canceled due to rain. Pollard was at his home in those days. When the match was canceled, Hardik went for a walk with his friend Pollard. Both were walking on the road that Pollard suddenly pulled Hardik’s feet. At that time a policeman who was a friend of Pollard was patrolling. Pollard called the policeman and complained to Hardik. Hardik understood that all this was happening in jest. But the policeman took a tough stand. He is adamant on arresting Hardik.

Pollard’s prank caught

Hardik remained calm. But he started thinking in his mind that now the team management should be called for rescue. The policeman asked Hardik to scare him and the force is being called for his arrest. Things were getting serious. Then Hardik saw that the policeman was holding the phone upside down while talking. Meaning he was pretending to talk. Then Hardik understood that this was all a prank. Suddenly the policeman also started laughing. The atmosphere lightened. Then Pollard asked, Hardik, how did you stay calm in this situation? Then Hardik replied, “What is the need to be afraid of someone who has a friend like Pollard.” The biggest thing is that I was in your country. You can never leave me in trouble. It can be understood from this how much Hardik has faith in Pollard. Hardik himself narrated this story in a TV program.

How did this friendship come about?

Kieron Pollard joined Mumbai Indians in 2010. Hardik Pandya became a part of Mumbai Indians in 2015. Pollard had a big status when he joined the Mumbai Indians team. He was a valuable player of the team. When Mumbai became the champion for the first time in 2013, the hero of this victory was Pollard. In the final against Chennai, he played a blistering innings of 63 runs in 45 balls. He also took one wicket in the bowling of four overs. He was adjudged man of the match.

Captain Rohit Sharma and the franchise owner Ambani family respected Pollard a lot. Hardik was also crazy about Pollard’s fiery batting. But being a newcomer to the team, Hardik used to talk very little to Pollard due to his hesitation. There was not much talk of prayers and salutations. But when Krunal Pandya joined Mumbai Indians in 2016, the ground for a new relationship was prepared.

Krunal got along well with Pollard. Krunal and Pollard often stayed together. Hardik also came close to Pollard because of his brother.
