The Indian pair faced Indonesia’s Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in the final, who won the title by defeating them in straight sets 21-16 and 26-24 in a match that lasted 43 minutes.
After winning the match, Chirag Shetty while talking in the virtual press conference said, ‘I feel when we were in the last moments of the second set, we were leading 19-17, but then they took a 20-19 lead. achieved. We knew very well that they would try to score some easy points which would make the match protracted. So we knew that he would like to grab the first opportunity with the serve, we kept our calm watching it and even when we were 4-5 points behind, we kept things simple and did not give points easily. We knew it would prove beneficial for us even if the shuttle slowed down and the important buses responded.

Talking further, Chirag Shetty said, ‘According to me, this has been the best match of our career so far strategically. This was the match where we had to go out of our comfort zone or I can say that we were playing shots which we don’t usually play. He even tried to put the shuttle down, but whenever it was on our side, we would lift it up. We had already prepared the defense for him and instead of showing haste, we just kept trying. In the end it went in our favour.’
Talking on the corona epidemic, Shetty said that players can just take precautions but there is no full proof way not to get infected by it, in such a situation it is not their fault in the players who fell victim to its infection.
