In many cities, the retail price of tomatoes has reached from Rs 100 per kg to Rs 120 per kg. In Delhi-NCR, the price of tomatoes is 80 rupees, while in Chennai the price of tomatoes has reached 90 to 95 rupees.

If we compare the prices of tomatoes, then there is an increase of 400 percent more in its price. In Delhi’s Azadpur market, the wholesale price of tomatoes has reached Rs 70 to 80. According to traders, the increase in the prices was due to the disruption in the supply of tomatoes. Apart from the shortfall in supply, the impact of the weather is a major reason for this.

Till last month, the price of tomato was being sold in the range of Rs 30-40 per kg.
