IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals unveils new jersey, ‘top secret’ in style

New Delhi, March 15: Rajasthan Royals have unveiled their new jersey for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The official social media handle of the franchise made the big announcement on Tuesday (March 15). The champions of the first season will be seen in pink and blue color jerseys but they have made some significant changes in their design. Made of several shades of pink, there are horizontal stripes on the jersey.
At the same time, the collar and sleeves of the jersey are dark blue. The premium dry fruit brand HappyLow being the title sponsor of the franchise, its logo has been placed in the center of the jersey. The logos of other sponsors like Dollar, Jio and Red Bull have also been drawn in the kit. Meanwhile, the jersey was unveiled through a funny video posted by the franchise, which also featured Sanju Samson, captain Yuzvendra Chahal and Redbull stuntman Robbie Madison.
Royals captain Sanju Samson said, “It was really amazing. Robbie’s amazing stunts were something I had seen in person for the first time, only seen on TV before.”

Needless to say, the new design went viral in no time and fans gave their opinion. Meanwhile, the Jaipur team wants a change in jersey as well as a change in fortunes. After winning the title in the inaugural edition in 2008, RR did not qualify for the final even once. In fact, his performance in the last few seasons has been like nothing.
Nonetheless, the franchise officials did a good job in the mega auction last month and made a strong team. While skipper Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal were retained, the team bought big players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer and Yuzvendra Chahal in the auction program.
While the team looks balanced on paper, it remains to be seen how they execute their plans on the field. Meanwhile, IPL 2022 is scheduled to start on March 26.
