Malaysia Masters: PV Sindhu out of quarterfinals after 7th consecutive loss to Tai Tzu

PV Sindhu’s poor show against Tai Tzu Ying continued as the Indian shuttler lost to World No 2 for the 7th time in a row on the tour. Sindhu was eliminated after a three-game fight against the Taiwanese shuttler in the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500.

PV Sindhu was 9-10 in the decider, she put her all in the game. However, the Taiwanese star stunned Sindhu once again, winning the next 10 out of 12 points to win the quarterfinals 21-13, 12-21, 21-12 in 55 minutes.

Earlier this month, Sindhu had also lost to Tai in the quarter-finals of the Malasius Open Super 1000 tournament in Kuala Lumpur.

Sindhu has lost to Tai 17 times out of 22. He has not beaten the Tokyo Olympic silver medalist since the quarter-finals of the World Championships in August 2019.

Friday’s loss was also the third time that Sindhu has been knocked out in the quarter-final stage in her last four tournaments.

Even India’s chief badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, after Sindhu’s loss to Tai at the Malaysia Open, admitted that the player was losing too much to Tai and asked her to talk to her coach Park Tae Sang. will do.
