Nitish left the BJP in 2013 and came with Lalu. Both fought the election together. Despite the Modi wave, he was successful in forming the government in Bihar. After running the government together for two years, Nitish broke the alliance on allegations of corruption against RJD.
The government was formed in 2017 with the help of BJP.
Nitish Kumar joined the BJP after breaking the alliance with RJD in the month of Sawan. Nitish submitted his resignation to the Governor and took the support letter of the BJP MLAs and went to meet the Governor again the very next day. He again formed his new government on 27 July 2017 and became the Chief Minister of Bihar for the sixth time. Assembly elections were held in Bihar in November 2020 during the Corona period.

However, Nitish Kumar did not openly say anything on this at that time.
Fear of the end of JDU started harassing Nitish
Even though Nitish Kumar took oath as CM for the seventh time. But Nitish Kumar was blaming the BJP for taking the party to number three. After this gradually differences started between BJP and JDU. Even though BJP and JDU were together in power, the conflict between the two was repeatedly seen on many issues. JDU to realize that BJP is growing at the cost of JDU in Bihar. Many MLAs and leaders of Nitish Kumar were repeatedly saying that BJP is moving ahead in Bihar in the name of Nitish Kumar while JDU is weakening.
Big vote bank slipped from Nitish’s hand
Where BJP is running on the issue of Hardcore Hindutva. At the same time, the image of Nitish is that of a secular and progressive leader. He also suffered loss of vote bank due to compromise on ideology. Muslims were turning away from him and the upper castes were moving towards BJP. Not only this, OBCs and Mahadalits were also separating from Nitish due to the social engineering of BJP.
There was difference of opinion between BJP and JDU on many issues.
Apart from this, if we talk about issues, whether it is the issue of caste census or giving special status to Bihar, Nitish has been standing apart from the stand of BJP. Where BJP was against it. At the same time, Nitish was continuously demanding this. The riots in Bihar due to the Centre’s Agneepath scheme damaged Nitish’s image. Nitish kept silence on the issue of Agneepath. At the same time, BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal also targeted Nitish.
Concerns were raised in Nadda’s statement
Apart from this, Nitish Kumar wants equal proportion of representation in the Union Cabinet. At present, there are 16-16 Lok Sabha MPs from both the parties in Bihar. Nitish wanted that the number of ministers who have been made from BJP at the Center from Bihar quota should also be made from JDU. Whereas he got only one post in the centre. Recently, JP Nadda, who arrived in Patna to attend the BJP United Front National Executive meeting, had said that the regional party is on the verge of being wiped out, and only BJP will remain. Just this thing knocked JDU.
