Aadhaar card is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to all the people of India. The 12 digit Personal Identification Number can be used as a form of identification anywhere in India. However, to maintain the authenticity of Aadhaar, it is advised to keep Aadhaar verification and details updated. One may need to verify Aadhaar to check whether the Aadhaar number is valid for availing benefits, services and subsidies covered under Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act, 2016.

Your Aadhaar number can be deactivated for different reasons, such as not using it for three consecutive years, having multiple names in your account, or being inactive for updating your children’s biometrics when they are 5 and 15. years old. To check whether Aadhaar is active and all details are correct, UIDAI has advised residents to verify their Aadhaar details.

There are many ways to verify your Aadhaar number online or offline. You can use the official UIDAI website, call the toll-free number 1947 or visit an Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. An easy way is to scan the QR code on your Aadhaar card, e-Aadhaar, or Aadhaar PVC. It will show your complete details like name, gender, date of birth, address and photo along with digital signature of UIDAI.

1 – First of all download mAadhaar app from Google Play Store or App Store and install it on your smartphone.

2 – After that open the app and tap on the QR code icon given at the top right corner of the screen.

3 – Point your phone’s camera at the QR code printed on the Aadhaar card, e-Aadhaar, or Aadhaar PVC that you want to verify.

The app will scan the QR code and display all the details of the Aadhaar holder such as name, gender, date of birth, address and photo. These details are digitally signed by UIDAI and can be verified for authenticity.

If you make any changes in your Aadhaar details, you can update it online or offline. You can correct your address details online through the official website of UIDAI.
