The deadline for linking PAN card with Aadhar card is approaching. According to an update by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), all users will have to link their PAN with Aadhaar card before March 31, 2022. The CBDT has so far repeatedly postponed the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar, however, the department also simplified the process for the users.

It is mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar number under the existing laws. Moreover, it has been made mandatory to mention Aadhaar number while filing Income Tax Return (ITR) and applying for a new PAN to avail monetary benefits like pension, scholarship, LPG subsidy etc from the government. The Center had earlier extended the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar from September 30, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

step 1: First of all you have to go to the official website of Income Tax and you can go by clicking on this link.
Step 2: In the page, you will see a button of Link Aadhaar in the second option.
Step 3: So you have to click on that option and after that a new page will open.
Step 4: Now you will be asked to enter PAN number, Aadhar number and your registered name here.
Step 5: When all the details are filled, then finally click on the option of Link Aadhaar.
Step 6: Now later the Income Tax Department will start the process of linking your Aadhar card with PAN number. And in some time your aadhar card will be linked with pan card.
How to check whether your PAN card is linked with Aadhar card?
First of all you have to visit the official website of Income Tax Department.
Now you have to go to the tab of ‘Instant Link’ or you can also go by clicking on this link.
After this, now you will see the option of ‘Link Aadhaar Status’ here, you have to click on it.
Now you will be asked for PAN and Aadhaar number here.
After filling the details, click on the button ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’ below.
Now if your PAN number is linked with Aadhaar, you will get the notification ‘Your PAN is Already Linked with Given Aadhaar’ in a pop-up message. And if the link is not there, then you have to link it by following the steps mentioned above. Otherwise, after March 31, you may have to face troubles.
