Know what are the facilities in ‘PM Cares for Children’?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday released several facilities under the PM CARES scheme for children through video conferencing, including Ayushman Bharat, a passbook under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and a health card. All these incentives were handed over to the children during the programme.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the objective of the scheme is to ensure comprehensive care and protection of children by providing them boarding and lodging, empowering them through education and scholarship and equipping them for self-sustaining existence with financial assistance. 10 lakh on attaining the age of 23 years and ensuring their well being through health insurance.
When was this scheme started
The scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on 29th May last year to support children who have lost both their parents or legal guardian or adoptive parents or surviving parents in the Corona pandemic during the period from March 11, 2020 to February Went.
An online portal was launched by the government for the registration of children. The portal is a single window system that facilitates the approval process and all other support for the children.
