New Delhi. In the 15th season of the Indian Premier League, the Delhi Capitals team has had to face continuous ups and downs. Delhi Capitals have failed to win two matches in a row so far in the season, however after their defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, winning all the remaining matches has become a must. If he has to face defeat in a single match, then his luck to reach the playoffs will run away from his hands. Delhi Capitals have been quite disappointed this season in their batting department, with the exception of their openers, only one batsman has scored a half-century in the middle order.
Only Rovman Powell has done this feat for Delhi Capitals, who has played many explosive innings for this franchise this season. While talking as a guest on the sixth episode of The Delhi Capitals podcast, Powell revealed and told about his good form that because of which their performance has improved.

Delhi made me feel at home
Rovman Powell said that he has felt at home since joining the Delhi Capitals camp and that is why he has been able to contribute well by playing important innings for the team.
He said, “After coming from the Caribbean islands, it was important for me to feel at home here and Delhi Capitals has accepted me as a part of their family. Now I feel at home here. Good. The atmosphere helps you perform at your best. And I realized that everyone in the team is behind you whether you have a good day or not and that’s very important.”
Powell was without clothes for 2-3 days
The West Indies player also shared an anecdote about the fun start to his journey with the Delhi franchise. Powell said, “When I landed in Mumbai, I was told that the airline didn’t have any of my bags. When I left the airport, the only thing I had with me was my hand baggage. I didn’t have any extras. There were no clothes so I spent 2-3 days in a towel in my hotel room.”
Pant’s batting style is superb
Powell also talked about the Delhi Capitals captain. Powell said, “The way Rishabh Pant plays, such batsmen are very much liked in the Caribbean islands. He is a good player. Whenever we play against him (in international cricket), we get him out cheaply. And when Delhi Capitals signed me up, Rishabh told me that he is excited to have me as a part of the team and will give me the role I want. And he has stood his ground. . “
My dream was to take the family out of poverty since childhood.
The hard-hitting batsman also said that he is using cricket to lift his family out of poverty. The next match of Delhi Capitals in Tata IPL 2022 will be against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, 11 May 2022 at DY Patil Sports Academy (Mumbai).
Powell said, “I come from a small village in Jamaica. Farming is the primary source of income for most of the families in my village. But since childhood I had a dream that I could raise my family from poverty through cricket and education. Cricket is going well. God bless me. Before becoming a professional cricketer, I was going to be a soldier. Had I not been successful in cricket, I would have been a soldier today.”
