Mumbai, May 24: Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw will lead Mumbai in the knockout rounds of the Ranji Trophy starting June 6 in Bengaluru. This player, who plays in the team of Delhi Capitals, is ready to play from Uttarakhand in the Mumbai quarter-finals. The squad was announced late on Monday by the Salil Ankola-led senior selection committee. In this, a 21-member team was selected.
The selectors, who played well for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, have reposed faith in batsman Sarfaraz Khan. Along with veteran wicket-keeper batsman Aditya Tare, other young batsmen including Armaan Jaffer and Yashasvi Jaiswal have also been included in the team.
The bowling attack is led by veteran pacer Dhawal Kulkarni and has all-rounder Shams Mulani and pacer Tushar Deshpande. Shreyas Iyer is unavailable as he will be on national duty for the T20I series against South Africa.
