Prophet remarks case: Supreme Court gives relief to anchor Navika Kumar, gets interim protection from arrest

New Delhi, August 08: Anchor Navika Kumar has got relief from the Supreme Court in the matter of remarks on the Prophet. The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to Times Now anchor Navika Kumar, granting interim protection from arrest, in connection with FIRs lodged in different states by Nupur Sharma for her remarks on Prophet Mohammad.

The Supreme Court on Monday granted interim protection from several FIRs/complaints lodged on the remarks made by Nupur Sharma about Prophet Muhammad on the show of news anchor Navika Kumar. Court grants interim relief from arrest to journalist Navika Kumar in connection with FIR registered against her.

Actually, this FIR against Navika Kumar was registered in connection with the controversial remarks made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad during TV debate. The debate show was hosted by Navika Kumar.
