Story

Guru Paramhans is a world famous astrologer, who can read the past, future of a human being. He runs a Vedic school and his student has been Vikramaditya. He tells some scientists who come to meet him that Vikramaditya is the ‘Einstein of astrology’ and that his predictions are never wrong. The story takes the audience directly to Vikramaditya, who left India and now lives in Europe. He says that there is no love line in his hands. That’s why he doesn’t love, he just flirts. But soon he meets Prerna.. and luckily brings him closer. Both fall deeply in love with each other, but both know that their love has no future. Both of them have kept some secrets of their life hidden. Will the two be together forever by fighting the future? The story of the film revolves around this.

directing

Radha Krishna Kumar’s direction disappoints. The director himself seems so confused in his story that it is impossible for the audience to connect with the film. There are many scenes which are far from logic. The story of the film sometimes goes in favor of astrology, sometimes in opposition. Despite being a love story, there is nothing in the film’s story or characters that can touch your heart. The director has made the climax quite grand, and it looks really grand.. but there is no point in any grandeur. It seems that the mission of shedding crores of budget like water has been given. The 140-minute long film fails to create an impact.

acting

Prabhas looks very handsome in the film. Prabhas and Pooja Hegde are shown frame by frame as perfect, beautiful. Both the actors have done well, but their chemistry with each other is superficial. The director has not put any depth in his characters. If you can’t connect emotionally to a love story, the film fails right there. Why eminent actors like Sathyaraj, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Kunal Roy Kapur were cast in the film is not known. Neither he was given any strong dialogues, nor concrete scenes.

technical side

The film has been shot in different parts of Europe, which gives it a grand look. Cinematographer Manoj Paramhans captures the beauty of Europe with his camera. The film looks like a dream. Good work has been done on VFX as well. But the film is very weak in terms of writing and editing. There is a lack of depth in every character. Even the main characters seem quite superficial. The theme of the film is interesting, but the story is so boring and confusing that it does not give a chance to connect with the film. As a result the film leaves no impact.

music

The music of the Hindi version of the film is composed by Mithun, Amaal Malik and Manan Bhardwaj. The music is on the positive side of the film and matches with the background of the story. The songs have also been filmed in a very beautiful way.

see or not see

Believe me, even if you are a fan of Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, do not take the risk of watching this movie. Radha Krishna Kumar’s ‘Radhe Shyam’ looks gorgeous and beautiful on screen, but the content is very tedious. The story of the film is so scattered and weak that it does not create any effect. 1.5 stars for ‘Radhe Shyam’ from Filmibeat.
