New Delhi, 7 July: Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has been ruled out of the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2022 due to a US injury. Earlier reports claimed that Spain’s superstar Rafael Nadal has suffered a 7mm cut in his abdominal muscles. Rafael Nadal didn’t reveal the severity of his injury after winning a hard-fought five-set fight against American youngster Taylor Fritz, but he appeared to be in incredibly pain. Nadal was back on the winning track after a two-set loss in the quarter-final match.

One of the greatest tennis players of all time, known for his flexibility on the court and his mental battle, said that he could not tell right after the quarter whether he would play the semi-finals or not.

“Honestly, I can’t give you a clear answer because if I gave you a clear answer and something else happens tomorrow, I’ll be a liar,” Nadal said.

“I just wanted to give myself a chance. It’s not easy to leave the tournament, not easy to leave Wimbledon, no matter how much the pain.”

Nadal was seen doing a light training session on 7 July, indicating that he could play against Australia’s Nick Kyrgios but it did not happen. Nick is in great form.

Nadal is known for his elite mentality and even played in the final of the French Open, in which he lost one leg throughout the game. Before the final of the clay court tournament, Nadal had a nerve injection to ease the pain, which left one leg asleep throughout the game. In that match, Nadal dominated in straight sets against player of his own academy, Casper Roode.
