New Delhi, May 18:
Neighboring country Sri Lanka is facing economic crisis these days. Sri Lanka, which is going through the worst phase since its independence, has failed miserably on the economic front. The people of the country are facing fuel and medical crisis along with food and drink. Meanwhile, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has tweeted a graph comparing the two countries, targeting the Modi government regarding the economic condition of Sri Lanka.

Compare India with Sri Lanka
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday compared India to crisis-hit Sri Lanka in a tweet criticizing the state of the economy, showing somewhat similar graphs in terms of unemployment, fuel prices and communal violence. Huh. Sharing a set of three graphics each for India and Sri Lanka, Rahul Gandhi posted, “Diverting people’s attention won’t change the facts. India looks a lot like Sri Lanka.”
Distracting people won’t change the facts. India looks a lot like Sri Lanka.

Rahul tweeted by sharing three graphs
The graph posted by Rahul Gandhi showed rising unemployment in both countries since 2017, peaking around 2020, the year India imposed a lockdown to fight the coronavirus. Then next year seems to be going down a bit. The second graph compares petrol prices in India and Sri Lanka, which have been increasing since 2017 and rising around 2021. The third graph shows a rapid increase in communal violence in both countries in 2020-21.
