MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who is rumbling against the use of loudspeakers in mosques, has said that the issue of loudspeakers is not only related to mosques. He said that many temples also have illegal loudspeakers. He said that illegal loudspeakers are a social issue, not a religious one.

Raj Thackeray said that he is in favor of maintaining peace in Maharashtra. He questioned as to what action is the Maharashtra Police taking against 135 mosques which have violated the Supreme Court’s guideline on loudspeakers. MNS supremo Raj Thackeray alleged that the police was only taking action against his party workers.

He said that they will continue the agitation and protest till the illegal loudspeakers installed in mosques are removed. On the issue of playing Hanuman Chalisa during Ajan, he said that till the illegal loudspeakers are not removed, they will continue to play Hanuman Chalisa from loudspeakers during Ajan. Raj Thackeray said, what will the Supreme Court do if the government does not follow the orders of the top court, it will be a matter to be seen.

Significantly, Raj Thackeray has tried to strengthen his campaign against the use of loudspeakers in religious places by tweeting an old video of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. Balasaheb’s video on loudspeaker, tweeted at 9 am on Wednesday, has been viewed by over 2.99 lakh people in five hours. In the same period, more than 39.3 thousand Twitter users have also liked Balasaheb’s video on loudspeaker.

Let us inform that in view of the fear of unrest in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a law and order review meeting with Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and top police officers of the state and asked the police to adopt all methods and any means to maintain law and order in the wake of the loudspeaker controversy. Have been instructed not to wait for instructions. According to media reports, after this meeting, Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Rajnish Seth has said that the state police is capable of maintaining law and order. He said that the teams of Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force and Home Guard are on alert.
