Xiaomi has started releasing teasers hinting at the launch of the upcoming Redmi smartphone. The device will be a budget smartphone and is likely to be priced around Rs 15,000 in India. The latest teaser confirms the color options of the Redmi 12. Xiaomi has revealed that the new smartphone will be launched in three color options.
The company also revealed that its budget phone will sport a crystal glass finish, which is likely to look premium and offer a high-end phone-like feel. Let’s take a look at the color options, specifications of Redmi 12.
When will Redmi 12 be launched in India?
Xiaomi has revealed that the Redmi 12 will launch in India on August 1 in three color options. This device will be available for purchase through Amazon. Xiaomi had earlier revealed the Moonlight Silver color variant of the Redmi 12. When light falls on this colour, a rainbow-like color appears on the reverse side.
The company has revealed that the phone will also be available in Jade Black and Pastel Blue colours. The teasers also confirm that the Redmi 12 will feature a triple-camera setup at the back. There are three circular cutouts on the back of the device that mimic the camera module layout of the iPhone 14 Pro.
The phone features a flat frame design with curved corners. It also appears to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the right edge. The Redmi 12 was launched earlier this year in a few international markets. There is every possibility that the phone will be launched in India with the same specifications.

The display comes with 6.79-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is said to offer a peak brightness of 550 nits. It has a punch hole cutout at the top center for the front camera. There is MediaTek Helio G88 SoC along with Mali G52 GPU. While talking about RAM and storage, it comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This phone is MIUI 14 with Android 13-K.
