London, 5 JulyIndian tennis star Sania Mirza continues her stellar performance at Wimbledon. Sania has made it to the semi-finals of the mixed doubles with her Croatian partner Mate Pavic. The pair of Sania and Mate is the sixth seed in the tournament.
This is the first time that Sania has reached the semi-finals of this Wimbledon event. In the quarterfinals, the pair of Sania and Pevic defeated number four seeds Pearce and Dabrowasti 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in a match that lasted one hour and 41 minutes.
The pair of Sania and Pevic got a walk over in the second round. At the same time, she defeated Spain’s David Vega Hernandez and Georgia’s Natella Zalmidze 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 in the first round. Sania’s game in the quarterfinal match was worth watching. Sania and Pevic’s jugalbandi was amazing and that is the reason why the pair won the semi-final ticket.
In the semi-finals, Sania and Pevic will face the winning pair of the other quarter-finalists (Robert Farah and Jelena Ostafenko or Fick second seeds Nail Skupsi and Desirei Kroczyk).
