Shamshera Weekend Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor’s film fell flat, know the earnings of three days here

- Posted by Filmi Beat, last updated on

Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer film ‘Shamshera’ has been completely rejected by the audience. While the film has received mixed reviews from critics, the success of the film can be clearly seen at the box office. Till the opening weekend, the film has crossed the mark of just 30 crores. It would not be wrong to say that Shamshera has become a superflop.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film has earned 10.25 crores on Friday, 10.50 crores on Saturday and around 11 crores on Sunday. If trade pundits are to be believed, Shamshera, made on a budget of 150 crores, will hardly reach 60 crores at the box office.

The flop of Shamshera proves to be nothing less than a shock for the Yash Raj banner. This is the production house’s fourth consecutive major flop. Earlier Bunty Aur Babli 2, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Samrat Prithviraj also fell at the box office. However, now all his hopes are pinned on the upcoming Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan starrer big budget movies Tiger 3 and Pathan. Which is going to be released in the year 2023.

At the same time, when it comes to Shamshera, be it multiplex chains or single screen – the film failed everywhere. The film did decent business in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and then in Mumbai, but in other places, the situation was such that many shows had to be cancelled.

Let me tell you, this was the highest screen release film after the lockdown. The film got 4300 screens. But the film could not show any good at the box office. This is also a setback for the Bollywood industry. In the year 2022, except ‘The Kashmir Files‘ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 2’, no film could last long at the box office. This is extremely disappointing. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are on the upcoming films Raksha Bandhan and Lal Singh Chaddha on August 11.
