Approvals are based on self-certification. The Common Application Form has been designed to meet the needs of all the departments. Approvals are under the purview of TS-iPASS, with 27 departments providing 39 types of pre-establishment and pre-operational approvals. Clearance is granted within a stipulated time frame ranging from seven days to a maximum of 30 days, depending on the complexity of the clearance. Failure to do so is considered approved.

For large projects i.e., projects with an investment of more than Rs 200 crore, provisional or provisional clearance is issued within 15 days based on the self-certificate submitted by the applicants. Formal approval is given before starting the operation in the unit. All approvals under TS-iPASS are through end-to-end online system. E-mail and SMS alerts are sent at all stages of the application process.
