It is true that cinema is crossing barriers. To a large extent, regional cinema is now as much mainstream cinema. And the proof of that is how the Hindi dub of the popular movie Odiyan has crossed 10 million views. And this feat happened on the occasion of Mohanlal’s birthday, and it is quite a gift that fans have given him. Talking about this achievement, Superstar Mohanlal says:

Indian cinema today is breaking the barriers of language. South Indian cinema is getting audience from all over the country. Odiyan is a very special film for me. Odiyan is a folk tale from Kerala. It is wonderful for the North Indian audience to know and appreciate it.

Thank you all for this. I wish Odiyan to reach millions of viewers. Meanwhile, Odian director V.A. Sreekumar says: Hindi audience is appreciating Mohanlal’s performance in Odiyan.

His impeccable acting talent is a matter of pride for the entire nation. His characters need to reach a global audience. The country’s widespread recognition for regional language films is indeed a cultural advancement. Odian is an Indian superhero.

There are many indigenous characters like Odiyan all over the country. In this age of technology, the recognition given to the Hindi dub of the film which was originally released four years back is an example to widen the horizons of cinema.

Interestingly, Odiyan is one of the highest grossers in Malayalam cinema till date. Odiyan first hit the screens on December 14, 2018 and is also available in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Antony Perumbavoor among others.
