Just like Test cricket rests on the openers, in T20 cricket, it is the finishers that decide defeat and win many times and this season we also got to see some such tremendous finishing which forced us to clench our fingers under our teeth. There were also some players who had disappeared on the panel of international cricket, but players like Dinesh Karthik managed to make a comeback. The golden journey of IPL has come to an end, so let’s see who was the top finisher in this entire season.

David Miller

The less talked about this player, the less because David Miller has proved to be a diamond for Gujarat Titans. He played many match winning innings. There were matches when Gujarat Titans did not seem to be winning at any level, but David Miller got the team crossed. During this, he also played some important innings with Rahul Teotia. We also see David Miller in a ruthless form against Rajasthan Royals in the playoff stage of the IPL.

Dinesh Karthik

What to say about Dinesh Karthik, he has also got a place in Team India on the basis of finishing. Dinesh Karthik joined the RCB team this time and he showed the brightest performance here. He scored 330 runs in 16 innings of IPL 2022 season at an average of 55 and a tremendous strike rate of 183.33. He remained not out for 10 times which shows the extent to which he was thrashing the opposition teams.

However, Karthik could not play in the last match of RCB i.e. second qualifier and his team had to face defeat. Apart from this, Karthik managed to score runs on many occasions and his highest score was an unbeaten 66. Karthik had earlier scored an unbeaten 37 runs in the Eliminator match, which came off 23 balls. We saw him play an unbeaten 30 off 8 balls in a league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Liam Livingstone: Hangman Batsman

Another player is Liam Livingstone who has made his name known to the whole world through this IPL. The truth is that Liam Livingstone appears to be even more subversive than Caribbean players. He was bought by Punjab Kings for a whopping sum of Rs 11.5 crore and this player scored 437 runs with four half-centuries with a tremendous strike rate of 182. We remember Livingstone for his 117m wheel hit by Mohammed Shami in this competition. He hit 34 sixes this season and was only behind Jos Buttler. He has also impressed everyone with his spin bowling and has also taken 6 wickets with the best figures of three wickets for 27 runs.

Tim David: Executioner Number Two

Tim David was fed very late by the Mumbai Indians team. It must be MI’s mistake somewhere for whom this season has proved to be a nightmare for all. Mumbai Indians took Tim David by paying eight and a half crore rupees but he was fed after the first half. David was unsuccessful in two matches in the initial round, after which he was made to sit on the bench for a long time but the talk was given frequent opportunities and David played one to one top innings.

In this edition of IPL, he has scored a total of 303 runs with an average of 50.50 and a strike rate of 157.81. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a price of 8.5 crores. Apart from scoring an unbeaten 59, he made a finishing-cameo of 31 off 16 balls, 27 in 13 balls and 29 off 17 balls.
