Killer-Miller’s bat exploded throughout the tournament. In 16 matches, the T20 specialist player scored a total of 481 runs at an average of 68.71 and a strike rate of 142.73. During this, 2 half-centuries were seen with his bat. He emerged as the best match finisher for Gujarat in the tournament. In the final too, Miller returned unbeaten on 32 off 19 balls. In Qualifier-1 too, he scored an unbeaten 68 off just 38 balls against Rajasthan. Earlier, against Chennai Super Kings in the league stage, the South African batsman scored an unbeaten 94 while chasing a target of 170 runs.

Miller won the first IPL after 3691 days

David Miller played his first match in IPL on 20 April 2012 while playing for Kings XI Punjab. He was a part of this tournament continuously from 2012 to 2021, but could never win the trophy. In 2014, he played the final of the tournament for Punjab, but could not win the title. Finally the wait of 3691 days (121 months and 9 days) came to an end and Miller managed to win his first IPL.

Miller was unsold

David Miller was the first player to go unsold in the mega auction before the start of the 15th season. However, later Titans bought Miller for Rs 3 crore with a base price of Rs 1 crore. Till last year, he was associated with the Rajasthan Royals camp. He played for the Royals in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, but could not do much. Prior to this, he was part of the Punjab team from 2012 to 2019.

Miller’s most successful IPL

Miller scored 487 runs this season. This was the best IPL year of his IPL career. Earlier, he scored 418 runs in the 2013 season and 446 runs in the 2014 season. In 105 IPL matches, David has scored 2455 runs at an average of 36. During this, one century and 12 half-centuries were seen with his bat.
