We are not enemies, only rivals, so we should not let others down: Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi, August 08: Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India, was also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. M Venkaiah Naidu delivered his last speech as the Chairman and Vice President of Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Naidu said in his speech that we are not enemies, we are rivals. We should work hard to beat others in the competition but should not let others down. I wish Parliament works well.

He said that I tried my best to maintain the house. I tried to accommodate and give opportunities to all sides – South, North, East, West, North-East. Time has been given to each of you. I am grateful and impressed by your love and affection.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the Vice Presidential election. Venkaiah Naidu has now retired as the Vice President. He gave his last speech in the Rajya Sabha.
