Wimbledon: Money will rain on players, know how much the winner of the title will get

New Delhi. Wimbledon tennis tournament is going to start on 27th June, which will be played till 10th July. But before this, tennis players have got a good news from England. Actually, this time a lot of money is going to rain on the players because the organizers of the third Grand Slam of the year Wimbledon have announced to increase the prize money this time. This time the total prize money has been kept at 40.3 million pounds i.e. around Rs 393 crores.
For your information, let us tell you that last year the prize money of 35 million pounds i.e. about Rs 341 crore was kept. But this time the amount has been increased. The organizers have also issued a statement regarding how much the player who becomes the champion will get. According to the organizers, “This time the players who become champions in men’s singles and women’s singles will be given two million pounds i.e. about Rs 19.50 crores.” Last year, Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Ashleigh Barty of Australia won the Wimbledon title, who received 1.7 million pounds, or about Rs 16.58 crore, as a reward.

The special thing is that this time the points of Wimbledon matches will not be added to the ranking points. That is, it is not going to affect the ATP or WTA rankings. This has happened because Wimbledon has banned players from Russia and Belarus due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As a result, the ATP and WTA have dropped points from the tournament.
